Massive Movement Project - Eclipses

Summary

As we all know, that the Earth revolves around the sun which takes 365.5 days for the Earth to orbit around the sun. To revolves means to moves around an object. Also the Moon revolves around the Earth which is called Lunar Revolution. It takes 29.5 days for the moon to orbit around the Earth one time. There are two types of eclipses that are caused by the movement of the moon, sun and the Earth. one is called lunar eclipse and the other one called solar eclipse. Lunar Eclipse is when the moon is in the shadow of the Earth and it only occurs when there is a full moon which is when the moon is fully illuminated by the sun. There are two types of shadows. One is called Umbra and the other one called Penumbra. Umbra is the darkest part of the shadow, and Penumbra is the lighter part of the shadow. And there are two types of eclipses which are total eclipse and partial eclipse. The total Lunar Eclipse occurs when the moon is in the umbra of the Earth and the partial Lunar Eclipse occurs when the moon is in the penumbra of the Earth. The Solar eclipse occurs when there is a New Moon which is when the moon is totally covered or invisible. The total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon is in the umbra of the Earth. The partial solar eclipse os when the moon is in the penumbra of the Earth.

Critical Thinking Questions

How do the Earth's motions affect us each day? The rotation or the movement of earth causes day and night which spins on it's axis. When the axis is tilted towards the sun, the Northern Hemisphere receives more radiation than the Southern.

How are the movements of the Moon, and Earth apparent on Earth?  Sun,Moon, and Earth causes tides which is the rising and falling of the sea level. Because the ocean is attached to the moon because of the gravity so it follows it and it moves around because of the Earth's Rotation.

1.What did you enjoy most about this project and why? I enjoyed working in groups because we helped each others and it was funner than working alone.

2. What was most challenging for you during this project and why? The most challenging part was being assigned in many roles because there weren't enough people in the group.

3. What new skills did you learn from doing this project? I learned how to make movies, how to work with different people.
